Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2015 in Mumbai – “Hindustan Times HTKGAF”
Being an ardent admirer of visual arts and literature and an artist by ardor myself, I always ensure to take time out and visit the Kala Ghoda Arts festival in Mumbai every year.
This year’s KFAG started today i.e 7th February 2015 and the event as per the details on their website will go on till 15th Feb 2015.
I was there at 11am today morning and the atmosphere was electric with zest and excitement from crowds across age groups. I loved the fun, gusto among toddlers and little kids who were too happy to see so many beautiful pictures, colours, mirror works and artwork all around them.
You could see teenagers gathering in groups to take as many “selfies” (individually and or among their own groups or as couples) near each and every single artwork and instantly getting eventful uploading it on social sites.
This is usually the case every year, but what was amazing this year was that, almost near every single artwork, the artists themselves had given a HASHTAG or a Twitter Handle or a facebook link for USERS encouraging them to take #Selfies and post it online.
Social media and art are making this year’s KGAF truly go global across age groups and are helping in keeping the conversations alive, exciting and engaging.
I loved the innovative artworks from each and every single artist. Each one of them was unique in it’s own way.
There were also plenty of food stalls which were abuzz with kids and families seriously discussing over the menu items and ice creams etc. I myself enjoyed a nice meal at Bombay Blues and had a refreshing Gelato to beat the heat on the KGAF grounds today.
If you even remotely enjoy art or visual art in any form, then I would encourage you to check out the KGAF. It’s truly awesome!
